Transcribe client recordings, no cloud
Voxmill turns a recorded hearing, client call or case meeting into a transcript on your computer. The recording reaches no server: not ours, not a cloud provider's.
For Apple computers. Windows: in development. Notify me.
What European bars ask lawyers to check
- Confidentiality first
- The CCBE is the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe. In its 2022 survey its members named three top cloud concerns: protection of confidentiality, data control and overall cybersecurity.
- Where the data goes
- Where storing data outside the firm is allowed, its guidelines tell lawyers to ensure the provider is not subject to long-arm legislation. That is a law obliging it to hand over European lawyers' data to non-EU national authorities.
- On your own hardware
- Its technical guide on AI tools says on-premise deployment “is often preferred when the users deal with confidential or sensitive data. For lawyers, this is the most secure option regarding the respect for confidentiality.” Its Table 4 lists transcription (ASR) among the local AI tasks where a CPU is sufficient.
CCBE guidelines on the use of cloud computing by Bars and lawyers, 27 February 2025 (pages 6 and 8), and CCBE technical guide on “the use of AI tools and models by lawyers”, 27 March 2026 (pages 5 and 15). Your own bar's rules decide what applies to you. Documents: cloud guidelines (PDF), AI technical guide (PDF).
Check it yourself
Voxmill goes online only to download the files the app needs to work, to activate and confirm a licence key, to give its activation back and for a new version. It sends an error report only if you agree, with no recording, transcript or file name.

Supplier card, by the Polish Bar's checklist
The Polish Bar Council's good practices recommend that a firm goes through the IT supplier security checklist, and keeps the answers, before it signs (annex 3). These are Voxmill's answers, one row per area of that checklist.
| Checklist area | Voxmill's answer |
|---|---|
| 1. Basic information about the supplier | Seat in Poland: Szymon Jędryczko, trading as Tenzan Logic (we give a postal address on request). No data centre, and no subprocessor receives recordings. The site tenzanlogic.com is hosted on Vercel; a separate seller handles the purchase and the key, and processes the purchase data under its own rules. There is no data processing agreement, because nothing from your recordings reaches us. |
| 2. Certificates and compliance with standards | No ISO/IEC 27001 or SOC 2 certificate. No independent audit or penetration test. The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple. Updates are signed with a Tenzan Logic key, and the app checks the signature before it installs one. Check:Verify offline: test 1 |
| 3. Data processing and storage | Data is on your computer, nothing at our end. At rest: the system's disk encryption (FileVault), if switched on; Voxmill does not encrypt files. In transit: HTTPS. Deletion: in the app or by deleting the data folder. Both leave Time Machine copies, the notes folder (also in iCloud or OneDrive) and the log in ~/Library/Logs/com.tenzanlogic.voxmill/, which can name files. Deleting in the app also leaves what “Reset Voxmill” keeps, if it was used: the copy of the list and the recordings Voxmill made before the reset. WebKit's media cache, which can hold the paths and pieces of audio of the files finished or opened in that session, stays until Voxmill quits, or after a crash until it next starts. Check:Privacy |
| 4. Access and user account management | Voxmill has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is no MFA. The computer's user account has access to the data: you set its password, screen lock and permissions. The log (Help menu, “Show the Log”) holds errors and file names, with no transcript text and no paths. Check:Privacy |
| 5. Incident response | Security contact: contact@tenzanlogic.com. There is no on-call rota and no contractual deadline for notifying an incident. We acknowledge a report as soon as we can, and the app offers the fix as an update. Our servers hold no recordings or transcripts of yours. Check:Write |
| 6. Backups and business continuity | No client data sits at our end; you back up your own files. After the speech files are downloaded the app works without the internet. A Pro key needs confirming every 30 days, with 30 days of grace; then Pro switches off and transcription goes on in the free version. |
| 7. “Artificial intelligence and language models (AI)” | Speech recognition runs on your computer. No client data goes to an AI provider or to us, so there is nothing to train on, and a “no-train” clause is not needed. The app downloads its speech files from Hugging Face and GitHub, checking each. Check:Verify offline |
| 8. Monitoring and reporting | The log is on your computer (row 4). The addresses the app connects to are written into it, and changing them needs a new version. There are two exceptions. The address of the update download comes from a small file on tenzanlogic.com, the one that also names the newest version. Hugging Face, GitHub and tenzanlogic.com may redirect a download to another server. After an update the window shows up to three changes of the new version. There are no audits (row 2). The privacy notice has a version number and a date. Check:Privacy |
IT supplier security checklist: annex 3 of the Polish Bar Council's cybersecurity good practices, second edition, in Polish (pages 64 to 65 of the document, pages 70 to 71 of the PDF). The answers describe Voxmill 0.3.7. They are our answers, not a legal assessment: the firm decides on the supplier. Document: annex (PDF).
