The questions people ask most
Do I need the internet?
For three things. On first launch Voxmill downloads the speech model (Lite 488 MB, Pro 1747 MB), a Pro key is confirmed once at activation and once every 30 days, and once a day one small request asks whether a newer version exists (it carries no data about you; an update downloads only when you click). Recordings and text are never sent; details in the Voxmill privacy notice.
Which computers does it run on?
Today: an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) with macOS 15 or later. Intel Macs are not supported. The Windows version is in progress; leave your address in the form above and you get one e-mail when it is ready.
How do I install it?
Download the file, open it and drag Voxmill onto the Applications folder. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings. File size, checksum and how to verify it: on the download page.
What is the difference between Voxmill Lite and Voxmill Pro?
Lite is free: two hours of recording in about 6 min, 17.9% word errors in Polish. Pro is more accurate and, on a Mac, faster, because it runs on the Neural Engine: about 5 min and 6.2% word errors. Both run entirely on your computer. Lite is in the free tier, Pro in the paid one.
How do you measure accuracy and time?
Accuracy is the share of words transcribed differently from the original (word error rate) across 200 Polish recordings of the FLEURS test set. Time is two hours of Polish speech (400 clips of the same set joined into one file) from load to save. Measured on a MacBook Air M2, 14 September 2026, with the settings the app ships with. Windows figures will follow measurements on Windows hardware.
Are there discounts?
Education: 50% on request from a university domain address to contact@tenzanlogic.com. For 30 days after the Windows launch Pro costs 29 EUR instead of 39 EUR.
How does it compare with other tools?
Prices read from vendor pages on 11 September 2026: MacWhisper Pro 64 EUR one-time, macOS only; Otter, Descript and Sonix from 8 to 25 USD a month, with recordings uploaded to a server. Voxmill: 39 EUR once, nothing uploaded.
What happens after I buy?
You get a key by e-mail from Polar. You enter it in the app (window footer, "Pro key"). The Pro model and its Neural Engine accelerator download after activation; the first transcript waits a few minutes while macOS prepares the accelerator, once. Every version 1 update is included and installs from the app in one click; version 2 at half price.
What does Voxmill run on?
On the whisper.cpp speech engine (open source, MIT licence) with Whisper models, running on your Mac: on the graphics chip and, in Pro, on the Neural Engine. Voxmill works offline; the internet is needed only for the three things in the first question.
How many languages?
Polish and 98 others. Polish is the one measured; for the rest, accuracy depends on the language and the recording.
